Online applications for accommodation at the University of Lincoln open from the 1st March. You are eligible to apply from this date if you have made the University of Lincoln your Firm or Insurance choice with UCAS. We would recommend that all eligible applicants who require accommodation complete an online application as soon as possible.
*Once you have accepted your offer with UCAS, please allow 24-48 hours before registering on the site.
Please note that once you have made your application, it will be ‘awaiting verification’ until a-level results day.
2. Accommodation allocation process
If you made Lincoln your Firm choice with UCAS and applied for accommodation before the 30th June, room offers will start to go out from A-level results day. This is the same process for both Unconditional Firm and Conditional Firm applicants; no offers will be sent out until we have all students’ results.
If Lincoln is your Insurance choice or if you are coming through Clearing then accommodation offers will start to go out after this date, usually commencing the week after results day.
3. Your accommodation offer
Once you have an offer of accommodation, this will be emailed out to you. You will only receive one offer of accommodation and if you wish to accept the offer, the email will contain all of the information on how to do this. Please note that university managed accommodation and our Partnership Halls have different processes so please refer to your email for your own instructions for the development to which you have been allocated.
If you have an offer of university managed accommodation, we will also email you a link to our online booking system to view and (if you wish to) accept your offer of accommodation. If you are not happy with the accommodation offer you have been given, then you need to contact us to reject your original offer of accommodation. You would then be placed on a waiting list.
*Please be aware that we cannot guarantee what accommodation will become available if you choose to reject your offer of accommodation.
4. Secure your accommodation
If you have an offer of university managed accommodation then in order to accept your offer online, you’ll need to choose a payment plan and make a £250 down payment by credit or debit card.
5. Download your accommodation agreement
For university managed accommodation, when you have accepted your room offer and made the down payment you will be asked to revisit the online booking pages to view and print your formal contract for your records.
6. No longer coming to Lincoln?
If after accepting your room you find you are no longer going to be joining us, please contact us as soon as possible so we can advise you of the cancellation process.
7. Complete your online induction
If you will be living in university managed accommodation then a couple of weeks before you are due to start with us you will be invited to complete the accommodation online induction.
This short activity is designed to give you all the essential information that you will need before you move into University accommodation. Depending on which university hall you are allocated to, you will either be able to find out your arrival date and time slot or you will be able to book your arrival date and time, print out your key collection paperwork and get directions to your student residence.
8.Your room address
Once you have completed your induction, you will be able to view your address which will contain which room and flat you have been allocated to.
Once you have this you will be given details to our residents’ only Facebook pages if you wish to join and make contact with other residents.
9. Print your documents
Print out the following documents from the accommodation online induction:
- Key collection form
#TopTip Do not pack these documents in the bottom of your suitcase, as you will be required to show your email / form of photo identification when you collect your keys to move in!
On the day you arrive, hand your key collection form to the relevant member of staff at the residence and bring photographic proof of identity with you. You will then be given your keys and/or access cards.
